8th Offender's Learning, Skills and Employability Conference #offender12
17 May 2012
London

Headline Speakers

In May 2011 the Government proposed reforms to the adult offender education system with a greater emphasis on the results that education and training delivers for offenders.

Subsequently, policy and funding opportunities made available through the Work Programme, Youth Contract and apprenticeships, have further highlighted the benefits of skills and employment to rehabilitation.

But although plenty of progress has been made during financially constrained times, there is still much to be learnt in achieving best practice in the delivery of learning and skills training both within secure units and increasingly through community sentences.

View this national conference online to hear key speakers from government; the secure estate; probation; business; education and local government debate the issues and set out the strategy for offender learning.
