Sir David Blatherwick, Chairman, Egyptian British Chamber of Commerce

Sir David joined the Foreign Office in 1964. He served in London, Kuwait, Dublin, Cairo, Belfast and New York. He was Principal Finance Officer and Chief Inspector from 1989 to 1991. Sir David was Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland from 1991 to 1995 and Ambassador to Egypt between 1995 and 1999.

Sir David has been Chairman of the Egyptian British Chamber of Commerce since 2000 and is Joint Chair of the Anglo-Irish Encounter since 2002. He is a board member (past Chairman) of the Middle East Association, trustee of the British Egyptian Foundation for Children with Special Needs and trustee of the British University in Egypt.
