David Turrell

Chair, Kingswood Partnership Manager, Head, Sir Bernard Lovell School

David has been the Headteacher at The Sir Bernard Lovell School since 1995. He is now Executive Headteacher. He chairs the Kingswood Partnership. He was a member of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority 14-19 Advisory Committee and the Nuffield 14-19 Review Body. He has also Co-ordinated an International Networked Learning Community and sits on a National Committee for Europe as a Learning Environment in Schools and was the co-ordinator of a European Project for Languages. David provides national advice to the UK regions on 14-19 education and he is a Headteacher Consultant to the British Education and Communications Technology Association. David is a national speaker on the 14-19 Curriculum Reform. He has worked directly with the Department of Education’s Learning Visits on the 14-19 reform process for Headteachers and Advisors and was judged ‘Outstanding Headteacher’ by

Ofsted in 2003. Kingswood Partnership was judged ‘Outstanding overall’ in January 2009. David was awarded the CBE for his national contribution to educational innovation.

He has worked internationally for several years co-ordinating work in France, Italy, Malta, Australia and Tanzania.
