David was principal investigator for, and author of Creating Entrepreneurship, a report based on research into Entrepreneurship Education for Creative Industries. He has worked closely with other sector agencies including NESTA, Design Council, the CIHE and Skillset. David is a registered architect and after 10 years in practice he became a full time academic. He is an executive member of the Design Educators’ Association and the Group for Learning in Art and Design, an independent assessor for the Architects’ Registration Board.

David's most recent research has been examining how creative industry practitioners' knowledge is transferred to the university curriculum and how the university can support continuing professional development for practitioners. The research report will be published later this year.
