Ian has extensive experience in Social Care and the Voluntary sector. Starting his career as a Social Worker and then Residential Care for Adolescents Child Care Management and moving as an Assistant Director of Northamptonshire Social Services to implement the Community Care Changes. After 5 years in this role covering Commissioning and Joint Working Ian was appointed as Director for the then Children's and Adult Social Services Department. A position he held until Jan 2003.

Following this he moved into Consultancy focusing on Partnership Working and Performance. Following a 3 month project for the Ministry of Health in Cambodia Ian took up his current Change Agent post working with Bob Ward at the London Development Centre,
