Professor Fiona Ross

Professor Fiona Ross
Professor Fiona Ross is Dean of the Faculty of Health and Social Care Sciences, a joint venture between Kingston University (KU) and St George’s, University of London (SGUL).

Fiona did a nursing degree at Edinburgh University, a PhD at King’s College London and has practiced as a district nurse. She was the first nurse to be appointed to a Chair in Primary Care Nursing in a UK Medical School (St George’s). Other academic posts include Director of the National Nursing Research Unit in the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and Midwifery at King’s College London.

Recent and current research includes leadership of practice disciplines in higher education and a programme of work on service user involvement in research and shifting professional boundaries and collaborative practice in primary care.
Fiona is Visiting Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Tokyo Metropolitan University, Fellow of the European Academy of Nursing Sciences, President of the International Collaboration of Community Nursing Research, Chair of the London Higher Healthcare Education Group and a Trustee of Princess Alice Hospice in Esher.
