Joanne Homer

 Joanne Homer
After completing a Midwifery Diploma programme in 2004, Joanne consolidated her skills on the Delivery Suite and on a Postnatal Ward.

In 2005 she became a community/team midwife working in a Sure Start area where each day is excitingly different. She is currently a deputy team leader which she hopes will help her to gain management skills for the future.

Joanne has a caseload of 120 women this year which she sees at the local GP surgery. Her day could entail anything from postnatal community visits, Birth Centre shifts, Parent Education Sessions or home deliveries. Joanne has always enjoyed attending labouring women at home which has led her to join the Home Birth Group which aims to increase the Home Birth rates in Stockport and High Peak.
