Jonathan Ellis
Jonathan Ellis is Director of Public Policy and Parliamentary Affairs at Help the Hospices, the national membership body for the UK hospice movement.
He has 12 years experience of working in health and social care policy within the voluntary sector, and experience of political campaigning at a local and regional level.
He joined Help the Hospices in January 2007. Prior to this, he worked for over eight years in the policy team at Help the Aged, where he ended up as Senior Policy Manager for Health and Social Care, responsible for the Charity’s care policy work.
Between 2003 and 2007, he was also chair of The Patients Forum, which was a not-for-profit organisation bringing together a network of voluntary, statutory and academic organisations with an interest in health policy.
Prior to joining the voluntary sector in 1998, he worked in local government in one of the first joint appointments between a local council and the then health authority.
