Roland White is assistant principal for curriculum at the Isle of Wight College, where he has overall responsibility for curriculum, teaching and learning and student support. He has worked in education for ten years fulfilling a variety of roles including teaching, quality assurance, equality and diversity and most recently senior management. Roland has also recently trained as an Additional Inspector. Before moving into education Roland worked in industry for a number of multinational companies, specialising in procurement and supply chain management.

Roland is a firm believer in the benefit of learner involvement and has been active in promoting a number of activities at college to ensure the “Voice of the Learner” is truly heard and responded to. The Isle of Wight College has experienced significant improvements in quality and standards over the last eight years, much of which it believes can be linked to listening to learners and helping raise aspirations.
