Professor Emeritus Andrew Miller

Andrew began his career as a teacher in several West London schools before joining the School Curriculum Industry Partnership national team. Since writing case studies for Industry Year ’86 he has worked in the field of education-business collaboration in various roles: Research Director of SCIP; Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Education and Industry at the University of Warwick; and government adviser from 1995-2000 and 2003-2007.
His other main field of interest is mentoring. He is author of Mentoring Students and Young People and was Professor of Mentoring at Middlesex University where he established the Higher Education Mentoring Network for universities as part of Aimhigher. He was Director of the Institute for Community Development and Learning at the university before retiring to work on his own consultancy business in 2007. He has worked extensively with the Learning and Skills Network on various vocational, citizenship and science programmes.
