Bill Sutton

Project Manager Operations and Development, Semta

Bill joined Semta in 2005 from the Aircraft Carrier Alliance (BAE Systems) in Bristol. Prior to that he served a full career commission in the Royal Navy, with a background in Air Weapons Systems. He has wide experience in Education and Training Management, completing an array of Instructional Posts whilst in the Service. Bill has worked within Semta as Southern Operations Manager and represented the Company in the Automotive and Marine Sectors. Latterly his efforts have concentrated upon Project Management of the development of Diplomas in both Engineering and Science; the latter being cancelled in Jun 10. The Diploma in Engineering however is developing into a definitive qualification with clear Industry demand in order to meet the challenge of the worsening demographic recruitment demands of the STEM Sectors. To date, the Diploma has been heralded as the vehicle to bring Engineering alive in the classroom and to promote contemporary opportunities within the profession to a vast array of young people from all backgrounds, many who would not have previously had such a career aspiration. Bill is also leading on the development of qualifications for the growing Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Market.
