Bill Fearon

Prinicipal and Chief Executive, South and West Kent College

As a business studies graduate Bill ran his own small business in the sports equipment industry before moving into education where he has over 30 years experience in Secondary, Further and Higher education. Bill’s 'extra-curricular' commitments have included 6 years part-time inspection work and a range of external verifier roles with BTEC and EDEXCEL. He was one of the first 10 Principals to complete the ‘Principals Qualifying Programme’ and continues to work with a range of staff on leadership and management training. He is a supporter of professional coaching techniques and believes it can be a very effective aspect of CPD for staff at all levels.

Bill was appointed Principal & Chief Executive of West Kent College in 2002, and in April this year became Head of a new institution formed through the merger of South and West Kent colleges which will formally launch in the Autumn. He has served on a range of County, regional and national bodies including the current role of Vice Chair of the emerging Windsor Group of FE Colleges; and is a long-standing Board member for AoSEC.
