Ms Metcalf joined Elsevier in 2003 in the health science division, moving to the science and technology division in 2007. She began her current role in 2015, working closely with ministries of education, science and technology, and universities, to advance their research agendas. She has a postgraduate degree in business administration from the University of Cape Town.
