Professor Moizer trained as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse. In 1989, after ten years at Manchester University, he became professor of accounting at Leeds University and in 2008 was appointed as the Dean of its Business School. He has been a Council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is the senior moderator for its professional stage examinations. He was a reporting member of the Competition Commission for eight years and is a strategy advisor to the Greater Manchester Pension Fund (approx. 20 billion euros of assets).

He is a member of EFMD and has taken part in eight EQUIS reviews.
