Giles Orr
Giles has worked at CIPFA for 4 years, having achieved CPFA status through a joint University of Warwick and CIPFA scheme for senior finance staff in 2008. Prior to his current post, he managed all of CIPFAs UK and international training centres.
Before joining CIPFA, Giles spent over 15 years in the post-compulsory education sector, holding a variety of senior posts in FE colleges and support organisations. He has considerable experience in managing education organisations as businesses, exploring new opportunities in both local communities and in overseas countries. Recently he has been working on developing professional training programmes in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan and Colombia, and has extended existing work in Nigeria, SE Europe and Lesotho.
His current role includes the development of international regional hubs to support professional public financial management across the globe, leading CIPFA’s ATA apprentice project, working with schools and colleges and initiating CIPFA’s new global counter-fraud centre.
