Karen Knibbs

Karen Knibbs is Undergraduate Curriculum Development Director in the Marketing and Sales Subject Group at Portsmouth Business School, and has managed the BA Marketing pathways for three years.

Karen joined the University of Portsmouth in 2002, after working as a Marketing Manager in B2B roles with a marine technology SME and an international marketing role at IBM.

Karen is a keen advocate of business engagement activities, both within and outside of the classroom, and has introduced many innovations into the curriculum such as live cases...marketing Society... integration of marketing/Psychology.. BA Digital.... She is the main driver of educational strategy/pedagogy in the subject group and contributes to faculty strategy (e.g. membership of faculty Board). She has led the teaching teams on BA marketing pathways to measurable success. Karen has a keen interest in benchmarking best practice and is an External Examiner for Canterbury Christchurch and Ulster Universities. highlighting her ability to work effectively, both autonomously and as part of a team.

Currently studying on a Masters course part-time and applying for her Senior fellowship of the HEA, Karen has heightened student support.
