Professor Jane Harrington

Professor Jane Harrington
Professor Jane Harrington has recently been appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of the West of England. Prior to that, she held the post of Pro Vice Chancellor and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law in 2010. Her expertise in Higher Education includes the development of innovative programmes, partnerships with other universities, FE colleges and Private providers, and change management.

Currently Jane manages a budget of over 40 million, with a staff group of approximately 300. Her role is similar to that of a CEO with responsibility for Human and financial resources, estates and facilities, product development and partnerships. Jane also holds a university role in relation to international provision which means that her job involves frequent travel inside and outside of the UK.

Jane holds a range of roles outside of the university including vice chair of the Association of Business Schools, CBI South West Council Member, member of Bristol Women’s Commission, member of Kaplan’s Academic Board and is a member of the Board of Governors of the university.

Jane is passionate about Higher Education, providing opportunities for learning to all students with a belief that Higher Education can transform lives.
