The Rt Hon The Lord Young of Graffham

After graduating from University College London to practice as a solicitor, The Rt Hon The Lord Young of Graffham entered the business world, founding his first enterprise in 1961.

Lord Young’s political career has included a number of roles since 1979, notably as Privy Council member, Minister without Portfolio and Secretary of State for Employment, Trade and Industry.

He is currently Adviser to the Prime Minister on Enterprise, reviewing the relationship between Government and small firms.

In May 2012 his first report “Make Business Your Business” introduced the Start Up Loan initiative: a programme that has enabled thousands of young people to realise their dream of working for themselves.
