Dominic Elliot BA MBA PhD FBCI
Dominic is currently Director of Programmes within ULMS, with strategic oversight of the School's suite of undergraduate, postgraduate, online and international programmes.
Recent research has been broadly concerned with organizational learning from crisis. This has included an examination of the UK football industry's response to the stadia disasters of the twentieth century, participant observation within the international finance sector and most recently in exploring learning for crisis within retail, manufacture and finance sector organizations.
A second strand of his research, with colleagues within the division, is concerned with the notion of supply chain resilience. Dominic is also conducting research in the related area of Service Recovery with colleagues from marketing and strategy and with colleagues from e-business.
He regularly speaks on the subjects of Crisis and Strategic Management at national and international conferences. Dominic believes in maintaining strong links with the non-University world and is reflected in his collaborations with organizations as diverse as IBM, Philips, HM Revenues & Customs, Merrill Lynch, Speedyhire plc, BNP-Paribas, Government of Lesotho, Shopdirect Sainsburys.
He has published many articles and books in the fields of Strategic and Crisis Management and Business Continuity, most recently in the Journal of Management Studies and Management Learning. He was Editor of the Academic Journal - Risk Management: An International Journal from 1999 - 2008.
