Dr Jane Hughes, is a qualified accountant, who has spent the majority of her working life as chief accountant/ chief finance officer for a variety of commercial organisations, mainly in financial services.

Since 2000, Jane has worked in higher education and joined the Open University Business School, as lecturer in accounting/ finance, in 2010. Jane’s teaching portfolio comprises online and face-to-face teaching, for which she was awarded an excellence in teaching fellowship (2008).

Her research interests are in accounting and finance teaching and learning, in particular assessment and postgraduate student engagement in accounting.
