Dr Sian Oram
Dr Sian Oram studied BA Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge and received an MSc in Reproductive and Sexual Health Research from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). She was then awarded a PhD by LSHTM for her research on the UK public policy response to the health needs of trafficked people.
She was a member of the human trafficking and harmful traditional practices subgroup of the NHS taskforce on the health aspects of violence against women and girls (2009-2010), joint Ministerial NGO stakeholder group on human trafficking (2007-2010) and the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime’s Human Trafficking and London 2012 network (2011-2012). Dr Oram joined the Institute of Psychiatry in 2010 and is currently working on research funded by the Department of Health Policy Research Programme to inform the NHS response to human trafficking.
