Tim Gilpin is the Director of Workforce and Education for NHS North of England. Prior to this he was the Director of Workforce and Education for Yorkshire and the Humber SHA and previously for Cumbria and Lancashire Strategic Health Authority.

Tim has spent most of his NHS career as an HR Director in a range of NHS Trusts including Acute, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Community Services.

He has chaired and contributed to a wide range of national policy groups in the field of Workforce development, education and HR and has given evidence to the Health Select Committee as an expert witness on the Education and Training reforms enacted in the Health and Social Care Act 2012 .

Tim has a first degree and an MBA from Leeds University and is a member of the institute of Personnel and Development. He is a trained coach and mediator.
