Dr Martin Bardsley

Dr Martin Bardsley
Martin is head of research for the Nuffield Trust.

He has over 20 years experience in health services research and analysis. He joined the Nuffield Trust in September 2008 to lead a team undertaking a quantitative research programme that includes studies on the development of predictive risk modelling, stratification and evaluation. The team specialises in work that exploits techniques such as data linkage and the use of existing information. Martin had previously worked as Head of Screening & Surveillance at the Healthcare Commission where he led the development and implementation of innovative approaches to the use of information in risk based regulation. He has also worked with public health information, leading on studies of pan London health, and undertaken extensive research in outcome measurement and case mix classification. Martin has a PhD from the London School of Economics and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health.
