David Shaw

David Shaw is Marie Curie Cancer Care's Director of Service Development, responsible for improving end of life care through the charity's collaborative work with the NHS and other partners. This focuses on the design, implementation and evaluation of integrated services to enable choice, improve outcomes and rebalance care between acute and other settings.

In his prior consulting career spanning over two decades, primarily with Ernst & Young and PA Consulting Group, David led major national programmes involving the public, voluntary and private sectors. David specialised in the role of charities delivering public services, working on best practice for the Home Office and Cabinet Office. These included work within and across health, education and criminal justice, such as leading the introduction of integrated substance misuse services for young people leaving custody, and national programmes to deliver new qualifications across all sectors.

David has also worked in service planning and system redesign in the NHS, which he joined as a National Management Trainee on graduation from Cambridge University.
