Speaker Biography

Sarah McClinton

Sarah McClinton studied social sciences at Cambridge University and went on to complete her social work training at the LSE in 1980.

She became one of the first specialist HIV social workers in the UK when the AIDS epidemic hit west London. Traditional service models were unable to deal to this new set of needs and she was involved in creating personalised responses and peer-support services.

Sarah was an Assistant Director for adult social services in Hammersmith and Fulham and now works as Director of Adult Social Care in the London Borough of Southwark.
