Colum Lowe
Colum Lowe is an independent consultant for BEING, working in creativity, design and management and advising clients in the public, private and charity sectors how best to use creativity and design to achieve their corporate goals.
Colum has spent 20 successful years in the design industry in a variety of challenging roles. His design and management expertise crosses over the disciplines of interiors, products, graphics and branding with experience in both public and private sectors from large national organisations to small private consultancies. Colum has an MBA in Design Management and joined the NHS in 2003 as Head of Design and Human Factors at the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) and was responsible for many groundbreaking projects that raised awareness on how the design of the physical environment, medical equipment and medication packaging can impact on the quality and safety of healthcare provision.
Colum was previously the Managing Director of Caulder Moore Design, maintaining his connection with healthcare by contributing to several healthcare design competitions and projects including the Design Council’s Design Bugs Out and the Royal College of Art/Imperial College Designing Out Medical Error (DOME) research programme.
