Dr Graham Spittle CBE is Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of IBM and a member of the Prime Minister’s Council for Science and Technology. From 2004 to 2011 he was the first chair of the British government’s Technology Strategy Board – the non-departmental public body with responsibility for delivering government technology and knowledge transfer programmes.

He is a Visiting Professor at Edinburgh, Southampton and Bristol Universities. He is Co-Chair of the Higher Education Commission, alongside Lord Norton, and, during 2012, led its first inquiry into the future of postgraduate education.
