Dr Jane Secker

Jane Secker, (BA, PhD, PGCHE, FHEA) is the Copyright and Digital Literacy Advisor at LSE, where she runs a programme of digital literacy workshops for staff and PhD students and teaches on the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education. She has considerable experience in research and was project manager for the JISC project DELILA (Developing Educators’ Learning and Information Literacies for Accreditation) which was part of the Open Educational Resources (OER) programme. She was an Arcadia Fellow at the University of Cambridge in 2011 where she worked with Emma Coonan to develop A New Curriculum for Information Literacy (ANCIL).

She has written three books, and her latest publication co-edited with Emma Coonan, Rethinking Information Literacy will be published by Facet in December 2012. Jane is Editor of the Journal of Information Literacy and was the Conference Officer for the CILIP Information Literacy Group which organises LILAC (Librarian’s Information Literacy Annual Conference). Jane is an honorary lecturer at the Department of Information Studies at Aberystwyth University.
