 Scott Degville
Scott Degville was seconded to Walsall Children’s Services in May 2012 as Troubled Families Project Manager, from the Council’s Economic Wellbeing Team where he was responsible for developing the Council’s response to the ESF Support for Families facing multiple barriers.

Reporting to Walsall’s Troubled Families Coordinator, the role involves setting up systems and procedures to manage the effective delivery and implementation of the Government’s Troubled Families Programme through a multi agency partnership approach. A key focus has been supporting the establishment of five Area Family Support Teams bringing together workers from various agencies to provide intensive support to local families.

Scott started in local government in 1988 as a town planner and graduated with a MA in town planning, focusing on economic and environmental regeneration for Walsall Council.

He moved to Birmingham Social Services in 1999 to manage their European Regional Development Fund projects helping service users with physical and learning disabilities gain employment opportunities.

Scott then moved to the NHS in Walsall and spent six years managing a programme promoting the benefits of health and wellbeing with more than 200 employers across the Black Country.

Rejoining Walsall Council in 2007, he focused on economic projects supporting people into work. He specialised in developing, commissioning and implementing Working Neighbourhood Fund and European funded projects. He has also maintained a regional focus, working as part of a Black Country team coordinating community grants to small voluntary sector organisations.
