Amanda Huddleston
Amanda started out her nursing career as a paediatric nurse at Bristol Children’s & Great Ormond Street Hospitals. She then progressed to become a Public Health Nurse Specialist (Health Visiting) in East London.
During the past 10 years, Amanda has worked in some of Stockport’s most deprived communities leading to her role as Public Health Nurse Advisor for all Community Health Stockport services. During this time she developed ‘Health Chats’ a nationally recognised training package that meets the needs of the ‘Making Every Contact Count’ agenda.
More recently Amanda has taken up the challenge of influencing nursing care by working on service improvement and integration of community and hospital based services. A recent example of her work has been developing an electronic scheduling and patient management tool that was funded by the Queens Nursing Institute and Burdett Fund for Innovation and Leadership grant.
