Speaker Biography

Sunita Morris

Sunita Morris joined Leeds Metropolitan in 2001 as a Senior Lecturer in Nursing, having previously worked in several specialist intensive care units before moving into a senior management position in the NHS.

As a University Teacher Fellow, she has a keen interest in all aspects of learning and teaching, in particular student support, the student experience, student admissions and inclusivity. Using Teaching Quality Enhancement funding, she developed the University Admissions Network, which has enabled colleagues across the University to share their knowledge and expertise on fair and transparent student admission practices.

Sunita began part-time doctoral research in 2008, focusing on what influences nursing admissions tutors when they are selecting pre-registration student nurses and to what extent are they influenced by the widening participation agenda? She has been involved with external consultancy, the findings of which have been disseminated via publication and several conference presentations, as well as through her teaching.
