Speaker Biography

Clare Devine

Clare Devine is an Architect and Director of her own multi-disciplinary consultancy.

She has been a Director of a number of architectural practices including most recently Capita Symonds Architecture where she was National Head of Education and Public Buildings.

Clare has designed award-winning buildings and won national design competitions. Her work stems from collaborative design, working with a wide range of creative individuals including: artists; engineers; film makers; photographers; scientists; journalists; writers and graphic and exhibition designers. She has a particular interest in environmental and sustainable design in its widest context including social, cultural and economic.

Communication and collaboration are integral to Clare’s work and she speaks nationally and internationally on the value of design diversity and engagement with diverse disciplines, industry and the public. Clare has been a visiting tutor and external examiner at a number of Universities. She is a Design Council (CABE) Design Enabler, a RIBA Future Foundation Member, Chair of Women in Architecture and Vice Chair of the RIBA Architects for Change.
