Dr Richard Yelland
Richard has been Head of the Policy Advice and Implementation Division in the Directorate for Education at the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) since January 2012. In this role Richard is responsible for co-ordinating national level policy advice to OECD members and partners individually and collectively.
From 1998 until 2011 Richard was responsible inter alia for the OECD’s Institutional Management in Higher Education (IMHE) Programme working on the governance and management of higher education institutions and the development of their role in society.
Richard joined OECD in 1986 from the then Department of Education and Science in the United Kingdom where he held a range of posts in educational policy and administration. In the late 1990s Richard was seconded to the University of Adelaide, South Australia.
He is a regular speaker at international higher education events and has contributed to a wide range of studies and reports on education.
