Gareth started his career in the early 1990s as an industrial design consultant and won a prestigious business award for services to industry.

He went on to be appointed to the position of Product Development Manager at a design-led organisation in the UK where he worked for a number of years before moving to the Cardiff School of Art and Design at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Gareth is a Principal Lecturer at Cardiff Metropolitan University and is involved in course delivery and fostering creativity and innovative design practices on degree courses.

He has also delivered a variety of professional development workshops for university academics both in the UK and internationally (most recently in Brunei, Malaysia and South Korea).

In addition to his teaching, research and consultancy activities, Gareth is the International Development Manager for the Cardiff School of Art and Design.
