Clare Edge

Clare Edge is the Care Leavers Association’s Young Person’s Project Worker and Deputy Director. Her role is to manage and develop young person led projects for care leavers. She has so far set up a national steering group of young people who will guide her work. Clare will also be developing the CLA’s volunteer strategy to enable care leavers of all ages to gain transferrable skills and experience as part of the organisation.

Since 2007 she has worked as Regional Development Worker then National Development Coordinator at A National Voice, a charity run by and for children and young people in and leaving the Care system in England. She has a particular interest in emotional wellbeing support for young care leavers and to make the process of gaining independence empowering. Clare is a graduate with First Class Honours in Psychology and has several years’ experience working with self-help mental health charities. Clare has also spent time in Care as a child.
