Alistair Jarvis is a member of the senior management team at Universities UK, with lead responsibility for communications strategy, political affairs, partnership building, campaigns, digital communications, events and media relations.

He was previously Director of Communications and Marketing at the University of Birmingham. He led a department responsible for public relations, marketing, events, digital communications, political relations, internal communications, community relations and communications with prospective students. The department he led won the Outstanding Marketing/Communications Team of the Year Award at the 2012 Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards.

Before this he held communications, campaigning and stakeholder relations roles in both the public and private sectors.

He has a first degree in Politics from the University of Kent and postgraduate qualifications from the University of Leicester and Institute of Education, University of London.
