Hannah Essex has joined Teach First a year ago as Associate Director of Communications. In this role she oversees the charity’s media, public affairs, marketing and digital media work. Prior to joining Teach First, Hannah was Head of Communications and Business Development at Teacher Support Network, a charity providing practical and emotional support to training, serving and retired teachers.

Before joining Teacher Support Network in 2005, Hannah spent three years in campaigning roles as a student officer, first as Vice-President of the University of Essex Students’ Union and latterly as National Women’s Officer and then National Vice-President of the National Union of Students.
