Alan Maryon-Davis, Immediate Past-President of the UK Faculty of Public Health, Immediate Past-Chair of the Royal Society for Public Health, Vice-Chair, National Heart Forum and Honorary Professor of Public Health, Kings College London
Alan Maryon-Davis is a public health doctor with an extensive track record in preventive medicine, health promotion and health policy at national and local level. He was the medical lead for a number of national campaigns run by the Health Education Council, including healthy eating and physical activity. He has advised Government on children’s lifestyles and, as director of public health for Southwark, led the local child obesity programme. He is currently vice-chair of the National Heart Forum, chair of the NICE Public Health Topic Consideration Panel and honorary professor of public health at Kings College London. Alan Maryon-Davis is also a prolific writer and broadcaster on health matters.
