Dr Ellis Friedman
Joint Director of Public Health, NHS Hillingdon and London Borough of Hillingdon.
Dr Friedman qualified as a doctor in 1977 and following junior doctor posts in hospital medicine, trained in public health, becoming a Consultant in 1983.
Ellis, the Joint Director of Public Health of Hillingdon, is a very experienced DPH (20 years) with a reputation for achievements across public health and health services at local, regional and national levels.
A joint appointment between LBH and the PCT, Ellis brings particular expertise in screening, cancer and heart disease prevention and child protection.
In 2007, he was a visiting medical expert to the Ministry of Health in New Zealand. He has written 3 books.
Ellis, who is married with two grown up children, relocated to London in 2010 having worked predominantly in North West England. He is a Londoner by upbringing and still has close family in North West London.
