Speaker Biography

Theresa Moore

Theresa holds early years and management qualifications and has held a number of positions within Lancashire County Council over the past 28 years.

Her career started in a social services day nursery working with early years children; she then managed the first family centre in Lancashire, which was a joint venture between social services, education and health. The centre supported children aged 0 – eight years and their families with a maintained nursery on-site, qualified social worker and health visitor. Multi-agency working, outreach support and adult education were all part of the services on offer.

As Theresa’s passion is and always will be early years, when the children's centre agenda came along she secured a position in the central early years' team developing children's centres across Lancashire and to date has successfully developed and delivered 79 centres across Lancashire. The centres have secured better outcomes for families as well as a high number of 'outstanding' and 'good' Ofsted inspections.

Theresa moved to her current role of early years lead for the County 12 months ago.
