Bob Evans QPM
Assistant Chief Constable, Police Adviser to National Offender Management Services.
Assistant Chief Constable Robert (Bob) Evans has 29 years Police experience and is 47 years of age. He is currently the Police Adviser to the UK National Offender Management Service, seconded from his home force of South Wales Police.
During his carer Bob has undertaken a range of specialist and core operational roles. His operational command includes three years spent commanding Swansea North and 3 years as the Commander for Cardiff.
He is an accredited national Gold Commander in policing major sporting events, public disorder, CBRN and firearms command.
In 2008 Bob was appointed as the full time lead of the UK Governments response to tackling knife crime.
He took up his post of Adviser to NOMS in April 2009 and is Head of Profession for all matters related to Police / Law Enforcement Agency prison activity, particularly in relation to intelligence matters, risk management, public order and the covert policing of crime and counter terrorism.
Bob is the Association of Chief police Officers (ACPO) portfolio holder for Foreign National Prisoners.
Bob was awarded the Queens Police Medal in the 2010 New Years Honours.
