Tricia Jenkins MBE
Tricia Jenkins is the Director of the International Centre for Excellence in Educational Opportunities, created by the University of Liverpool to provide a focus for global thinking around the changing role of the higher education sector in the social inclusion agenda. Tricia is also the Coordinator of a four year, European Funded Framework 7 project, SiS Catalyst: Children As Change Agent for Science in Society. This ambitious project questions the fundamental relationships between ourselves and our future, and seeks new ways to listen to children, as the future of this world, in order that their voices can be heard within the policy making of our institutions, and in particular our universities. The University of Liverpool has developed recognised expertise in raising aspirations and understanding of university in younger age groups, most notably through its Professor Fluffy programme. This work is being rolled out nationally through the National Primary Network and the Raising Aspirations teachers pack.
