Nick Jackson
Head of Finance Professionalism Team, HMT
Nick Jackson (FCMA) is Head of Finance Professionalism, based in the Treasury. He brings a wide range of experience to this role. Having started out as a teacher Nick moved into government, where he trained as an accountant with the then Lord Chancellor's Department. Later he worked as accountancy adviser and policy fast streamer with the Department of National Heritage. Nick left the civil service gaining over 14 years experience as a consultant with Ernst & Young and later Capgemini. His experience includes: working on the agendas of nearly all major government departments; a range of public bodies (e.g. BBC and BNFL); utilities; and local government. Nick's consulting focus has been on financial and performance management, and he was chair of the Performance Management Advisory Panel, one of the independent advisory panels set up to support the Finance Profession in its work.
