Anne Simmonite

Anne Simmonite, National Children’s Service Co-ordinator, Shelter

Anne Simmonite has worked part time as Shelter’s National Children’s Service Co-ordinator since returning from maternity leave in June 09. Prior to this she worked for Shelter as the Regional Manager for both advice and support services across the North West. Anne has recently worked with Shelter’s two peer education services to develop a good practice model for peer education. She is also a member of Shelter’s national Safeguarding Panel.

Before joining Shelter, Anne worked in a variety of different housing roles for both housing associations and local authorities. From April 2004 until her move to Shelter in September 2007 she led on strategic homelessness for Oldham MBC where she wrote the Council’s Homelessness Strategy, co-ordinated the homelessness forum and represented Housing on the borough’s LSCB. She was also an Independent Board Member with New Charter Housing Trust from 2000 to 2008.
