Ursula Gallagher

Ursula Gallagher is the Director of Quality and Clinical Leadership and PEC Chair at NHS Ealing and leads on Primary Care Development for the NWL Commissioning Partnership. She is also Visiting Professor in Primary Care Leadership at Buckinghamshire New University.

Ursula has just returned from a 12 month secondment to the Department of Health, co-leading support unit for the Prime Minister’s Commission in the Future of Nursing and Midwifery and is a member of the London Regional Board of the Royal College of Nursing.

Ursula has worked in a variety of clinical settings especially in the field of cardiorespiratory care and still works in clinical practice mostly with patients with long term respiratory disease.

Previously, Ursula was the Deputy Director of Nursing at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital Trust and spent a period on secondment to the South East Workforce Development Confederation.

Ursula’s other interests include professional leadership, workforce and role development, developing new organisational forms for care delivery and involving patients in service re-design.

Ursula is a member of the Clinical Advisory Panel for the King’s Fund Inquiry into the quality of General Practice in England, the Department of Health Payment by Results Clinical Advisory Group and is a Member, Council of the GP Led Commissioning Federation at the NHS Alliance.
