Liz Goodall

Liz Goodall has been Chief Executive of North Dorset District Council since 2003. During that time the Council has reduced its net costs by over 25%, preserved front line services by delegation to parishes and to the community, and improved staff morale and performance. Prior to 2003, she was a Policy Director at Southampton City Council, commissioning Highways, Environmental and Support services, having been part of the team which created the Unitary Council. Liz started her working life as an art curator culminating in appointment as Director of the City Art Gallery and Arts in Southampton. She led the major refurbishment of the Gallery and the development of the Harbour Lights Cinema. As a non-executive director of the Cultural Heritage National Training Organisation in the 1990s she chaired a national project to develop leadership and management skills.
