Julia McGinley
Julia McGinley, Parent Support Manager, netmums.com
Julia worked for in the NHS for over 20 years in the South East, for the last 15 years in she worked in different management roles in London Teaching Hospitals, and large multi site DGHs. After the birth of her 3 boys, she became a volunteer for netmums.com, building local sites and then becoming a moderator, supporting mums with post natal depression and miscarriage. Whilst at Netmums she helped develop the Business case for Innovation Funding from the DCSF to employ Health Visitors and other professionals in the netmums coffeehouse forum. During this time she continued to work in the NHS, latterly as Associate Director for Service Improvement, however she left the NHS in 2008 and now works for netmums.
Julia now manages the Parent Support service, consisting of Health Visitors, Netmums parent supporters and Advisers from organisations such as Women’s Aid, Relate and Citizen’s Advice. The service “performed best” in the DCSF independent evaluation of services. Julia received an award in Britain’s Best Boss 2009, for “setting the standard for new virtual businesses
