A catalyst for change

This year the Commission for Racial Equality - established by the 1976 Race Relations Act to lead the fight against discrimination and to promote good race relations - celebrates its 30th anniversary.To mark the occasion, the CRE is convening a race convention, the first its kind in the UK. It will be a landmark event with up-to-the minute debate to set the agenda for race relations and social equality in 21st century Britain.
