Pam Chesters

Pam is the Mayoral Advisor for Health and Families – providing advice to the Mayor on these issues and ensuring that his policy objectives are delivered.
On health she has worked with London Councils to present a joint proposal to the Secretary of State for the establishment of a statutory pan London Health Improvement Board and early scoping work is now being undertaken to develop the Board’s priorities. She is also working with London’s three AHSCs to determine how the economic contribution of biomedicine to the London economy can be enhanced.

Prior to this appointment Pam chaired the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust for eight years and served on the Board of UCL Partners.

Previous to this Pam worked for BP in a range of commercial posts and latterly as CEO of Duckhams Oils. (a wholly owned subsidiary)

She is a former Councillor and Leader of the Opposition on Camden Council and currently chairs Action for Children, the children’s charity which works with some of the country’s most vulnerable children.
