Professor Barnes joins Staffordshire University as vice-chancellor in April 2016 having previously been deputy vice-chancellor at Sheffield Hallam University. Before that, she was deputy vice-chancellor and pro vice-chancellor at the University of Derby. She also has an enthusiastic interest in engaging approaches to university teaching and student support, particularly the impact of technology and digital learning.
